Otoplasty (Cosmetic Ear Surgery)

Transform Your Ears Through Otoplasty (Cosmetic Ear Surgery)

What is an “otoplasty”?

Otoplasty, commonly known as cosmetic ear surgery, addresses a range of congenital ear abnormalities that can affect appearance and self-confidence. While these abnormalities are present at birth, they may not become noticeable or bothersome until later in childhood or adulthood.

One of the most prevalent conditions is known as “prominent ear” or “protruding/cup ear” deformity, characterized by ears that protrude from the sides of the head and face more forward than normal. This condition often results from excess cartilage in the conchal bowl or a loss of the anti-helical fold. An ear pinning otoplasty technique corrects this by reshaping the cartilage and repositioning the ear through an incision behind the ear, resulting in a more balanced and natural appearance.

Where is the incision for an otoplasty?

When correcting the prominent ear, the scar is discreetly concealed behind the ear for minimal visibility.

Various other ear deformities, such as cryptotia, constricted ear, Stahl’s ear, and ear tags, can also be addressed through otoplasty. While this list is not exhaustive, our experienced team can discuss personalized treatment options to address any concerns about ear shape.
